National Diploma in Information and Communications Technology (ICT)

Program Overview

The National Diploma in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at Uganda Christian Institute for Professional Development (UCIPD) is a comprehensive program designed to prepare students for diverse roles in the ICT industry. This diploma equips learners with advanced knowledge and practical skills in computer systems, software development, networking, database management, and cybersecurity.

Through a blend of theoretical instruction and hands-on training, students will develop the expertise needed to excel in today’s technology-driven world, supporting digital innovation and transformation across sectors.

Program Duration

The National Diploma in ICT is a 2-year program (4 semesters) that combines classroom learning, laboratory practice, and real-world projects.


Minimum Academic Requirements for Admission

To qualify for admission into the National Diploma in ICT program at UCIPD, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE): Passes in at least two (2) relevant subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Studies, or other science-related subjects.

  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE): A minimum of five (5) passes including English Language, Mathematics, and a technical or science subject (preferably Computer Studies or Physics).

  • Applicants with equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions or countries will be considered.

  • Mature applicants aged 25 years and above with relevant work experience may apply through the mature entry scheme, subject to assessment.
